Visit from the girls!

The end of Feb I was lucky enough to have visitors! Marie and Chris flew in for a 3 day visit. We had lots of girly time, hanging out, going to Pike Place Market, eating good food and trying not to bug Erik.
Here we are the first day. You can barely see the Pike Place Market sign in the background.
Inside the Market. The fresh flowers were starting to come back again with the daffodils!
Here we're having lunch at Ivar's Fish Bar. Too cold and rainy that day to go outside and feed the gulls.
But this Guy didn't understand that! He squaked at us the whole time through the window!
Here we're going into the International District/Chinatown for dinner. Erik's actually with us operating the camera.

Fried Chicken feet anyone?
The next day we relaxed in the morning and then walked around Mercer Island dowtown area. I didn't take any pictures until later when we went to the flagship store for REI. It's HUGE and has some great landscaping outside, including this waterfall!
Here the girls are trying to run away with this cool kayak!

And we saw the Space Needle but no one really wanted to go up in it this time.
The last day was Sunday. We went to church in the morning. The day turned out to be gorgeous, warm and sunny so before lunch we walked all over my neightborhood. We went to Luther Burbank Park and took a picture by that gorgeous flowering plum tree (or flowering apple, or something! It's super pretty anyway.)  You've seen it in a previous post.
Thus ended the wonderful weekend!! Thanks for coming to visit me girls! Come back anytime!

Sunny Day skiing

So this was way back on Feb 20. We went skiing and the skies were blue and it was clear and we could see for miles!! Gorgeous. Even though I'm "behind" on my blogging I wanted to share these pictures with you because they are so gorgeous. We are skiing at Snoqualmie Pass.

This was taken on I90 driving home. See the Olympic mountains in the background? They are so pretty in real life rising up above the city!
Skiing after math!

 Until next post!

Balmy Winter out here

So you all watched the Olympics, right? At least a little, right? Well, we were pretty much Olympic Junkies out here for those two weeks. The reason I'm mentioning this is that if you watched you know how warm and sometimes goofy the weather was in Vancouver and Whistler. Well, Seattle has been fairing about the same in the weather department. It's WARM!  Now I know it's warmer than my home state of Minnesota and even warmer than my adopted state of Montana but even the Seattlites are saying this winter is really warm.  I mean the Cascade mountains that we can see from our living room have very little snow on them. But are we complaining? Not much really. It's nice to get out and have it feel alittle bit like spring!  We've been out almost every day doing some kind of activity.  Even in the rain, yes! It doesn't rain here like it does in MN, it sort of mists a lot. So I took the following pictures on Feb 9th! Yes, I did!

All these fowers I found right along the streets around our apartment. Just gorgeous. And since I'm posting this soooooo late and it's actually already March 20, the first day of spring you probably don't believe me but it's true! I took these pics on Feb 9th!

In our neightborhood we also have a few parks that have some great views. On Feb 21 we took a walk to Luther Burbank Park on the northeaster tip of Mercer Island. It was a gorgeous day. I didn't take too many pictures but here are a couple.  Just a rock in the water but you can see a bit of Seattle on the hills in the background.
Fell in love with this apple or plum tree near the water. So pretty!!
Last but not least had to take a picture of my honey!
Hope you enjoyed! I'll be back with more regular posting now.
