Lake Wenatchee skiing

Well, this post is late but I have to post it because it was such a fun weekend.

In Feb over President's Day weekend we took Dain over the mountains and through the woods to Lake Wenatchee and Leavenworth we went. We stayed at a wonderful little resort Beaver Valley Lodge while we were there.  Highly recommend it if you ever visit the area.   We had a really good weekend for cross country skiing!  W got some snow but also had clear days for good skiing. I hadn't been skiing in 2 winters so it was really good to go! Erik carried Dain on his back and Dain loved it!! He did so well. But he loves to be outside, gee I wonder why? ;-)  We bundled him up in some borrowed snowsuit/fleece bunting so he stayed nice and warm but they were a little short for our tall/long little guy so we added extra socks, leg warmers and boots.  At night we ate at the 59er Diner which was good and fun for Dain to watch all the people and try french fries and hamburger for the first time. (I know it's "bad" food but we don't eat it every day!)   Sorry again about the sideways pictures.  We still can't firgure it out! May have to switch blog sites......

Anyway, Enjoy the pictures:

1 yr old already?!?!?!

Dain Aksel Peters was born one year ago on March 11, 2011. It's hard to believe that he's already one year old! And it's been quite the year of adventure for all of us. We're so looking forward to enjoying so many more years with him.
We loved all the new experiences we got to enjoy with him this past year, including camping, flying on a plane several times, going to Germany, Minnesota, hiking with him, cross country skiing with him, teaching him to walk at 10 mos, watching all 11 of his teeth come in, spotting the fire engines from our big apt. windows anytime there's a siren and so many more things! He is growing so fast into a little man and boy does he know it. Lately he is trying to climb everything he can.
We are so grateful for this amazing little person that God has blessed us with the opportunity to raise up into a man.  He is so special to both of us, we can not even begin to explain everything he means to us.

So now enjoy some recent photos of our wonderful son!
Cute feet!

10 mos and Christmas

Well our little guy is still growing! Dain is such a great kid. We can't believe that Dain is already 10 mos old!! Before we know it he'll be 1 yr!  He is growing fast and learning a lot these days.  He started waving "bye-bye" when we were in MN. He gives kisses (sometimes).  He loves to play copy cat ghames (see video with Tara, so cute!) He has started to stand without hanging onto anything, for about a second or two.  He's finally become an eating champ although he took a solid food strike when he was sick, can't blame him!  He still loves playing peek-a-boo and also being chased by Mommy or Daddy and then getting "tackled".  He's also turning into quite the climber, he loves Erik's parents stairs and would go up then several times a day when we were there.  Now that we're back home in our one level apt he is tring to find things to climb suck as his chair up onto the couch or onto the side table, the red chair, the desk! You get the picture! I have not gotten a picture of this since I am usually running over to make sure he doesn't fall.  I do like to cheer him on and be his spotter since he's just exploring like any kid should.   Oh his other most favorite thing to do is pull as many CDs from the rack as fast as he can esp. when we are trying to put them away. So I usually have to leave the pile of CDs until he's sleeping or he races over to pull out more and I'm telling you he can pull them out faster than we can put them back!

Anyway, enjoy the pictures!!

First Thanksgiving

Dain is now 9 mos old!! Wow, Time has flown.  Last month we got to spend his first Thanksgiving with our Seattleside of the family. Dain loved playing with Jonathan, trying turkey and sweet potatoes and hanging out with the family. It was a good time.  Here are some of the photos from that day and a few others thrown in.

Trip to Germany

Well we have just returned from a trip to Germany. We are slowly recovering from the jet lag, some colds and just getting used to being home again. We had a splendid time visiting with Artur, Ulla, and the rest of the family. We are really glad we were able to go before Dain got older. We also were able to do a little sight seeing in the area. Bavaria is just so beautiful. We had some great views of the Alps and the rolling farms fields where we were staying. Dain has many firsts on this trip. First plane ride (he did great!!). First shiner (hit it on the crib, not too colorful just swollen). Tried tomato, strawberry adn carrots for the first time and liked all of them. 3rd tooth came through (ok, not a first but close enough!). First time seeing snow fall, big huge fluffy flakes and he just stared and stared!! Anyway, here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure. I know that's why you're here anyway!  PS still haven't firgure out why some picture load sideways, you'll just have to turn your head.
